Combles, a Somme village at the heart of the 1916 battle

Located in the Haute-Somme between Péronne, Bapaume and Albert, Combles was destroyed during the Battle of the Somme in 1916 and rebuilt in the 1920s. Combles Infos, an independent website, brings together the village’s history since the Middle Ages, the First World War cemeteries, memorials and remembrance sites to visit nearby (Commonwealth, German and French cemeteries, Thiepval, Delville Wood, Rancourt), as well as the events calendar and practical information for Combles.
